MARIN COUNTY CIVIC CENTER
The Marin County Civic Center is an endless streamlined moderne prairie building. Its not one particular style but an emphasis on the style of the architect himself. Frank Lloyd Wright cut no corners on his stylistic vision of this building from the size of the doorways to the material of the hardware. There is a lot to look at when walking through the building. So many materials make up the interior aesthetic of his buildings. Red tile floor, dark wood trim, gold spheres, heavy gauge brass hardware, long white walls, geometric furniture, stainless steel water fountains, and green plants. Its an eclectic collection of materials that you don't see in many buildings. Even if you didn't know who Frank Lloyd Wright was, if you walked in to this building, the Guggenheim Museum, or the Xanadu gallery on Maiden Lane, its very apparent that one man designed all three of these buildings.
David Bowie Peg board
My friend and I felt it hard when Bowie left this year so I decided to make something that will remind them of the time he spent here.
A gloomy sunset in potrero hill with great views and great historical architecture.
A LOOK BACK AT DECEMBER 2015
At the beginning of December, I knew that I wanted to do something that would kickstart my transition into 2016 with an energetic jump. I decided to make a list, and from that think of gifts to make for the close ones. But for everyone I would make a christmas card for and mail it because the only things that we get in the mail these days are bills and amazon boxes. I quickly sketched the card and finalized it within a couple days. I have access to an OKI 941 that has the ability to print white ink, which I thought would be perfect for a cool looking card. I printed the cards on and envelopes and focused on making gifts for the close ones. A good design exercise it turned out to be and also quite time consuming but it was all worth the time knowing that be spending New Years in NYC with some of my closest friends.
Part one of the trip was going from Maryland to New York City
Part two of the trip was getting from NYC to Moretown, Vermont.
Part three was getting from Vermont back to Maryland and eventually back to San Francisco.
ETCHED IN MY MIND
Tokyo during the spring is something that everyone should do. My First trip to Japan.
PURE BEAUTY
The clouds that day were really epic.
Special moments come with a calling and come at times that are unexpected. The timing is perfect and the moment is real. It calls to be captured and its up to you to act or hesitate and miss, thankfully clouds don't move fast. In most other cases, hesitating would be unforgiving.
